Where Are My Shoes?

Synopsis

"When Pinky can't find her shoes, she goes to school with salami on her feet, not knowing how crazy this day is gonna be."

Summary

Pinky and Mr. Guinea Pig are playing cards. Tyler enters the room and asks if they have seen his shoes, as all he can find are a boot and a flipper on his feet. Pinky states what's wrong with the footwear he already has on, but he says that he has day camp and if he doesn't find his real shoes, he'll be in trouble. This gives Pinky a story idea about shoes. So the trio goes to the Story Box.

The story begins with Pinky waking up in the morning, as Mr. Guinea Pig gives her a sloppy good morning kiss on the cheek. She wonders what she will wear: a big wedge of cheese although it's too cheesy, a pink pony, although while she likes ponies, she dislikes the color pink, or her signature purple swirly dress, which is what she puts on. Her dad calls her down for breakfast and she gobbles up her cereal quickly. He tells her that gobbling up food too quickly makes her burp, and she does, and so does he. Mommy informs her to put her shoes on or she'll be late to school, so she zips into her room. But there's only one problem: she can't find them. She searched everywhere in her room, and even in the toilet, but no such luck. Pinky was getting exasperated. The school bus was arriving and she knew she couldn't go barefoot. Her mother calls her down to get her bag of lunch, so she does and gets an idea. Pinky takes the salami out of her sandwich and ties it around her feet with green beans, creating makeshift shoes to wear on her feet.

At school, she shows her friend Nicholas her salami shoes, and because he couldn't find his shoes, he had to wear meatloaves on his feet. When the two arrive at class, their teacher also couldn't find her shoes and had to wear roasted chickens, and she even had a third roasted chicken that she used for a purse. Pinky's classmates were also wearing food on their feet due to the same coincidence. An announcement shows up on the school TV where Principal Dipthong says due to a mix-up, the school will be serving shoe items for lunch. They realize that this whole thing is ridiculous and they start to get exasperated.

Pinky gets a big idea, and that they will take the food off their feet and eat it, and then get the shoes and put it on their feet. Everyone agrees and they march to the cafeteria and eat the food, something that Tyler finds gross although Pinky mentions that because it is a made-up story there are no germs. Afterwards, they sort through the cafeteria trays and fish out cool-looking shoes that they later wear, and the story ends with everyone happy and full. Pinky finds Tyler's shoes under her pillow in the Story Box.
